How to Balance Your Emotions and Build a Healthier, Happier Life

1. Start with Awareness

Simply taking the time to notice how you’re feeling can help put your negative emotions into perspective. By doing this, you’ll create distance between your identity and whatever your experiencing. The next time you’re angry, sad, or fearful, close your eyes and lean into the feeling. Accept it so you can move on.

2. Take a Proactive Approach to Stress

Instead of waiting until you reach your breaking point to meditate, journal, or enjoy a long walk, take a proactive approach to managing your stress levels by making these relaxing activities part of your daily routine. Think you don’t have enough time? Try looking at it as an investment in your health and happiness.

3. Make Gratitude Your Attitude

Maybe you’ve heard this tip a couple times before, but trust me, it’s worth trying. Reflecting on the things you’re thankful for (no matter how big or small) instantly elevates your mood and can help you see the silver lining on just about anything. Consider starting a gratitude journal and writing in it throughout the day.
